Although AURA is new to the market, our revolutionary technologies are the result of 25 years of relentless innovation. Perfected by Scott Van Horne – a former Canadian National team speed skater who’s studied Biomechanics – our custom skates feature a one-of-a-kind, ultra lightweight unibody shell. These features provide exceptional responsiveness and impact reduction while increasing jump height, reducing the moment of inertia, and unlocking greater rotational velocity to make previously impossible jumps, possible.

From ordering through to fulfillment, AURA delivers a customized experience unlike any other. Once you arrive to one of our Custom Fit Centers (or connect with one of our Fit Specialists), you will be asked to place one foot on a scanning platform. Utilizing patented technology, your foot will be scanned from a variety of angles to create a 3D rendering, before the process is repeated for your other foot. A profile of your foot size, ability, and individual needs in regards to stiffness will then be created and saved for continuous use/updating as required. Together with your renderings, these details will be used to hand make your skates in our factory. The scanning process generally takes a maximum of ten minutes, and once ready (approx. 3-4 weeks), you will be able to make final adjustments and pick up your skates at your Custom Fit Center or via your Fit Specialist.
-
Once your 3D foot scan comes into our facility, it will take approximately 3-4 weeks for us to hand make your custom skates. Please understand that wait times may vary depending on volume of orders.

Due to the custom nature of AURA, you may be required to change your blade size to suit our optimized blade position and enhance your performance. We will provide a recommended blade size for your foot, the typical range of which is within a half inch. If your requested blade length is outside our recommended range, we will discuss this directly with you before proceeding.

Taking into consideration your needs and preferences, AURA’s Fit Specialists will gather your information to create a unique profile and subsequent skate with a recommended level of stiffness. We are committed to ensuring each pair of skates is specifically crafted to meet your needs.
-
As with any change, there will be an adjustment period between you and your new skates. Thanks to AURA’s Engineered Flex channel, the industry standard break-in period is drastically reduced to 1-2 days for most skaters. As you continue to use your skates, they will adjust and adapt to the way you move.
-
We are committed to creating a skate that works for you. If you receive your skates, and feel like something is not quite right, email sales@auraskates.com and we will do everything we can to make it right. We have a 4 month return policy on any manufacturing defects.

As with any skate, defining the lifespan of your boots is subjective to multiple factors, including but not limited to: how many hours per week you skate, how well you take care of your boots, and how heavy of a skater you are. With all factors included, AURA is intended to last the average skater a full season. Some skaters may choose to use more than one pair over the course of a season on account of personal preference and feel.
